Red Clay Consulting is looking for a CC&B Solution Architect. The solution architect provides functional leadership on Oracle Utilities Customer Care & Billing multi-product implementations - working directly with client business sponsor and leads to emphasis business case objectives and leverage best practices across the solution set and scope management. This position can be done remotely anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Solution Architect Responsibilities

  • Own the definition, design, and delivery of a successful functional solution to Red Clay clients.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of the client’s current and future business and the relationship of interdependent project work streams.
  • Develop and maintain the necessary plans for workshops, business process definition, configuration, testing and training support - including key tasks, milestones, and deliverables – aligned with delivering the overall solution.
  • Drive execution of planned activities to ensure solutioning is delivered on-time and in line with interdependent project workstreams.
  • Facilitate conversations with the client to gather and provide recommendations on target business requirements in line with C2M capabilities and the functional roadmap.
  • Map stated client requirements to standard C2M business processes (URMs and other formats) forming the basis of subsequent process-based discussions.
  • Remove obstacles for the functional team to ensure solution objectives are met.
  • Provide regular communication to project leadership and functional team regarding project status, risks, decisions, delivery quality, and resource-related issues.
  • Provide the information and documentation needed for change orders.
  • Enforce the project issue and risk identification, troubleshooting, decision-making, mitigation, and escalation processes to ensure quick and effective problem resolution.
  • Lead the creation, delivery (development and configuration) and testing of a comprehensive business solution and all related documentation including future state process, configuration dictionaries, etc.
  • Oversee and approve all functional deliverables before delivering to the client.
  • Coordinate delivery of functional requirements and designs and timely receipt of complete and accurate work products from the off-shore development team.
  • Identify and request the resources necessary to achieve planned project objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with client business sponsor and subject matter experts.
  • Support the transfer of relevant C2M product knowledge to target client business resources.
  • Reinforce company goals, project objectives, and role expectations to team members.
  • Mentor team members and provide feedback by monitoring and appraising job performance.
  • Assist in RFP efforts by providing key C2M product knowledge and strategies for addressing prospect business requirements, writing proposal responses and SOWs, and contributing to other proposal-related activities.
  • Drive adoption of challenge standards and contribute to the evolution of Red Clay’s delivery methodology.

Education and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B)
  • 6+ years overall relevant experience, including five years in consulting or services
  • In-depth knowledge of meter-to-cash flow and billing
  • CC&B lead architect experience in at least three utilities implementations
  • Designer or architect experience with the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF)
  • Successful full lifecycle implementation experience
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and Cloud-based system delivery
  • A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a closely related technical field.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of XML, Groovy, and SaaS
  • Oracle Utilities CC&B Implementation Specialist certification
  • Other Oracle Certifications
  • Understanding of Oracle Utilities Customer-to-Meter (C2M)
  • Knowledge of other CIS or billing products in the market
  • Demonstrated experience as CC&B solution architect or CC&B systems integration lead.
