Software Training Specialist

The Software Training Specialist is responsible for the creation, coordination and delivery of Red Clay’s training and on-boarding for new hires and existing staff, as well as externally for project implementations and general training service offerings.   This includes the day-to-day enhancement, delivery and maintenance of the eLearning platform for internal and external audiences. The incumbent should provide excellent customer service and take the lead in responding to employee’s questions regarding training development, delivery, and health of the training program.  The Software Training Specialist also provides a broad range of support to maintain Red Clay’s workflow for internal employee’s on-boarding and external project specific training, taking on additional tasks as required and assigned.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Consultant in a software implementation role, 2 years’ experience delivering in-person technical training, and 1 year of experience with a Learning Management System.  This position requires a solid understanding of training from an instructor-led and online perspective.  Experience in the utility industry is highly preferred. 

A typical day might include the following:

Internal Training and On-boarding:

  • Administer and troubleshoot online training through the Docebo LMS (Learning Management System)
  • Design various learning solutions in the form of training videos, technical training activities, and training assessments for virtual and instructor-led delivery for audiences of varying skillsets
  • Work with subject-matter-experts to research, scope, and design hands-on, learner-centered curricula
  • Drive the creation of courses and learning plans as required to accommodate new trainings
  • Lead and coordinate new module development (on-boarding and lunch and learns) with internal SMEs to enhance preexisting content and develop new material
  • Deliver LMS Admin and end-user training as needed to new users
  • Manage LMS access (creating, updating, activating and deactivating users)
  • Deliver executive ready reports detailing LMS usage and learner progress
  • Create and analyze surveys to determine the effectiveness of training delivery and areas of improvement

External Training (Project and Professional Services):

  • Manage multiple project specific training programs, coordinating knowledge transfers with implementation teams
  • Assess training needs considering audience and project demands
  • Develop training methodology and processes to standardize training delivery across projects
  • Build dashboard and navigation to fit external client needs
  • Create and proof training deliverables in the form of reference guides, training slides, and learner reports
  • Hold demo training sessions to showcase LMS platform and trainings offered
  • Present to external audiences about training services offerings
  • Manage LMS access for external users and demo users
  • Maintain separate internal and external learning environments
  • Regularly meet with key stakeholders in the business to prioritize development and to ensure alignment with business priorities
  • Create and analyze surveys to determine the effectiveness of training delivery and areas of improvement
  • Occasional travel to client sites to deliver project specific training


Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Consulting experience implementing packaged software solutions
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering in-person technical training (can be as a Consultant)
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience with LMS (Learning Management Systems)
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and MS SharePoint
  • Experience with eLearning technologies (Captivate, Articulate, and Camtasia)
